Bud has been around racing in one way or another since he was 12 years old when he started working on his uncles pure stock. He started driving in 2002 in the dwarf car division. He took a break from driving for a few years and worked on a bunch of different crews and helping to build a few pro stock cars.
In 2009 he decided to get back into driving and traded a snowmobile for his first street stock and ran a limited schedule at afton, penn can and five mile point.
In 2010 Bud got a newer car and ran most of the season at I88 speedway until engine troubles and the birth of his son took him back to the sidelines. with running all but 6 weeks of the season he finished 10th in points.
since 2011 Bud has worked as a tech inspector at I88 speedway.
We plan on running at I88 speedway and Thunder mtn speedway on a regular basis as well as following Brett Deyos short track super series and the local xcel tour races.

I would be more than happy to discuss any ideas you may have.
A common myth about motorsports sponsorship is all that you receive in return for sponsoring the team is your company’s name on the car. As briefly stated on the front page, there are many other benefits you will receive
How can motorsports sponsorship benefit your business?
Motorsports sponsorship can increase name awareness through visibility in the community, improve revenue, and employee morale. Of course, an added benefit is the potential tax break / advertising write-off you may be able to obtain for your business.
Have you ever passed a trailer carrying a racecar on the road? Let me ask you, did it catch your eye? The attention received while transporting the racecar to races is tremendous. Maybe we could park the car in front of your store? It will definitely draw attention. You’ll find customers coming in and asking about the racecar.
Use the opportunity as a public relations vehicle by displaying the racing team picture on the wall of the office or store.
Racing sponsorship improves the loyalty of a company’s employees. Think of simple things such as a tee shirt with the race team name and your company’s logo on it. Racing events can be a very fun family outing - employees and their children would really appreciate a day at the track. Another incentive that can be used to build a company’s morale is to allow an employee(s) to work on the car preparation. Obviously this will apply more if you are an automotive shop or related business.
Even if you personally have no interest in racing, you can still take advantage of the promotional advantage it can provide your business. Racing events can be a great environment for the prospective client or existing customer who happens to be a race fan. Again, use the opportunity to be creative and differentiate your company from other companies in your market. There is no doubt that more exposure in the community will translate into a sale down the road.
A racing sponsorship is more than just a rolling billboard…
You also get a driver who can help you network and promote your business. A driver’s performance can be evaluated in several different areas. Is the driver a person you want representing and selling your company? What is the driver willing to do for you? Would you feel comfortable going to an event with your employees and prospective customers? How would the driver treat you?
I realize the importance of supporting my sponsors through many different methods and am always willing to discuss various ways that we can make this relationship even more beneficial to you.
What types of sponsorship opportunities are there?
There are many different ways you can provide sponsorship. Sometimes it just takes a little creativity. Of course there is always monetary support. You could also become a product sponsor by providing items needed for the racing season. Often times sponsors will provide racers with unique types of sponsorship that have no direct correlation to racing itself, but allow funds that would normally be spent on other products or services to be used for the race team. I would be more than happy to discuss any ideas you may have.
Additional Benefits Sponsors Will Receive
Your company’s name will be placed on the racecar and may also include contact information such as your e-mail address, phone number, location, etc. You can also use this space for special promotional advertisements or as a reward to your suppliers or customers. The size of the sign will coincide with the value of support given. You may also receive race tickets and pit passes, depending on level of sponsorship so you or others can attend races. Anyone interested in becoming more involved in racing is also welcome to become a part of the “race crew” for any of the events. Your company also will have space on our teams web site and promotion via social media outlets. Our team is also featured on our chassis builders web site which sees a tremendous amount of traffic during the racing season.
Basic signage to appear on the racecar will be provided with size and placement depending on amount of sponsorship this includes all letters and numbers for your signs.
What is xcel modified racing?
The 600 Modifieds are scaled down versions of DIRT© Modifieds powered by 600cc 4-stroke motorcycle engines. The Series is a spec division that promotes competitive and affordable, wheel-to-wheel racing. Xcel Chassis is a pioneer in spec division racing and supplies parts and services to racers in the greater tri-state area (PA-NJ-NY).
The Series travels to tracks in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The 600 Mods race in front of modified crowds as a supporting show at places like I-88 speedway, Thunder mtn speedway, and Big Diamond just to name a few. Each show offers a sizable purse that is spread throughout the finishing order. Everybody that makes the feature event gets paid as well as non-qualifiers.
This year we are part of a major touring series called the Short Track Super Series with races in NY PA and NJ.
The Racecar
The 600 Modifieds are designed based upon technology used in the 270cc and 600cc micro-sprint cars. Like the micro-sprints, the 600 Mods are chain driven using the same left side gear/sprocket idea, along with splined rear axles, tubular front axle, coil-over suspension, rack and pinion steering, and 10" wheels. That's where the similarity ends. The 600 Modifieds sport an aluminum body crafted after the Northeast Big Block and Small Block Modifieds.
Please feel free to contact me to further discuss potential sponsorship opportunities and to learn more about its many benefits to you.
I would welcome the opportunity to talk to you in person or over the phone to further discuss the benefits this relationship will provide you. Thank you for your consideration!
